Hello blog world! I really don't know what to talk about right now...except remember Bay Area HipHop?
Haha of course you do...GO STUPID! GO DUMB! And all that good sh*t. Some of you may say it's dead right? But living in The City, the hyphy hyphyness in clubs or bars is still unavoidable. It's like the plague except everyone starts to "gig" [bay talk for dancing] instead of die. However recently, Bay Area HipHop has been a bit repetitive and over done. So I closed my ears to most. Until I got to listen to this gentleman above, Beeda Weeda a while back.
He's a rapper from Oakland who was recently sued by Lil Wayne for sampling parts of his song "A milli." but that's funny! That's what I like about Weeda's music; the nicely picked samples. His samples and music to me are a fresher sound for Bay Area music, and pays much needed homage to classic Bay Area pioneers and other HipHop leaders. His samples include music from artists like Mac Dre, Wayne, Too Short, and even Ciara. My Fav's are "You Don't Hear My Tummy," which includes Dre samples and "She Likes" with Ciara samples.
In short his sh*t SLAPPSSS! [yes with two p's and three S's]. In the end, I do feel that artists should get their royalties but shouldn't they take it as a compliment as well? That's just my opinion. Beeda Weeda's new album "Fresh Air" is expected to drop soon.
Anywho...
Check out the video "You Don't Hear my Tummy" right churrr...
